About the Project

Take to the Sky with Rooso the Rooster, Montauciel the sheep and a duck with no name who were the passengers on the first hot air balloon flight at The Palace of Versailles in 1783. Rooso tells of the true events that led to this uplifting marvel which will surprise and make you chuckle. This is an enjoyable book full of lovely quirky details that really bring the tale to life.

This book was published in two languages – a great way to confuse our designer! The book is a family collaboration of mother and son. Moira wrote the story and her son Louis illustrated it.

The story is aimed at children to help provoke interest and discussion about inventing, science and history. A story based on facts but made fun and entertaining by using animals to narrate the story.

You can buy the book via the Louis Benoit website.

The Print

‘Rosso Takes To The Sky’ is a perfect-bound book. The inner pages are our 170gsm silk stock with a 250gsm silk cover. To finish the book the cover had a matt laminate finish and spot UV to the main image and text to make the cover pop! A beautiful book perfect for any child’s bookcase!
